PONTIAC COMES IN 1,2,3 IN 24 HOURS OF DAYTONA!

Good Afternoon:

When Pontiac pulled out of NASCAR, many thought we were a little crazy.

Pontiac had a rich history of racing and winning in the Winston Cup, and it was hard to leave that behind. The reasons were many, but one main reason was that our overall Pontiac marketing strategy was changing - in the general market, we were no longer satisfied just selling off of domestics like Ford and Dodge, but knew that we needed over time to start taking on imports. Our new products were going that way - Vibe, GTO, G6, Solstice, Torrent, G6 Convertible, etc. - and we needed to achieve that same thing in Motorsports - take on the imports and win.

So, our Motorsports strategy shifted away from domestics and towards top import brands. In late 2003, we entered the emerging youth sport of Drifting, and with the GTO became the first factory domestic brand to enter, and then also the first to win, against serious Japanese competition. In 2004, we entered the Rolex Series Grand American Cup, against stout import competitors like Lexus, BMW, and Porsche. And last year, in our first year in the Rolex Series, we won our first race at the 24 Hours at Daytona, and after the entire season was over, we stood proudly as the Engine Manufacturer's Champion in only our first season.

Some said this was a fluke. Today proves that it wasn't.

Because this morning, Pontiac for the second straight year won the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona!

And we not only won. We finished first, second, and third. Top five was Pontiac, Pontiac, Pontiac, Lexus, Lexus. When you see "Lexus", you can

also of course say "Toyota", since it is their engineers that get to answer for their loss.

Further proof that Pontiac can win at the imports' game, in racing and in the market. For instance, we've already been seeing the GTO turn fastest in our toughest market - California. We're seeing G6 start to really turn there, as well, and Vibe has always been strong at conquest. And of course the products yet to come are even more outstanding.

The pieces are starting to fall into place, and the strength of our surprising 2005 Motorsports successes should strengthen our resolve to earn surprising success in 2005 sales as well.

Good Selling!

Regards,

Flo
