GM HYBRID VEHICLE PLANS!
· GM is committed to a “march to zero” when it comes to vehicle emissions, and a long-term strategy focused on the hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle.
GM has a comprehensive, three-tiered advanced propulsion technology strategy, which we call a “march to zero:” zero vehicle emissions, with maximum energy efficiency.
GM has near-term and mid-term technologies including hybrids, that will bridge the gap between today’s vehicles and tomorrow’s hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles.
· GM has a very diverse hybrid program, with three separate systems designed to meet American driving patterns and needs. The systems will vary in fuel economy savings and cost.
· We will build 12 different hybrid models on our highest volume car and truck platforms, and we will deliver these vehicles with no compromises in performance.
· In the U.S., GM’s strategy is to save as many gallons of fuel as possible by applying hybrid technology to high-volume and high fuel consuming vehicles like mass transit buses, full size trucks and SUVs.
